Brooklyn Dance Bar & Performance Space Bringing Vintage Vibes to Grand Street

ETHYL’S WILLIAMSBURG IS A FUNKY SEVENTIES-INSPIRED HAUNT WITH FABULOUS FOOD & COCKTAILS, LIVE MUSIC FROM BROOKLYN LOCALS,  AND OF COURSE, GORGEOUS GO-GO GIRLS!
THEN LET OUR RESIDENT DJS CURATE A SOUNDTRACK THAT WILL SWING THE SCENE BACK IN TIME!

Ethyl’s began as a love letter to the sexy and decadent New York City of the 1970s. A time and place when native New Yorkers Charlie Sub and Gerard Renny came of age. And Charlie and Gerard have some serious NYC nightlife DNA. Talking the talk, having walked the walk.

Charlie recalls stories of his father’s legendary Queens rock club, The Coventry. This is the club that helped launch some of New York’s most iconic bands of the decade - Kiss, The New York Dolls, and The Ramones, to name a few.

Brooklyn-born, Gerard's nightlife journey began as a teenager back in 1977 when he was thrust into the decadence and celebrity of the infamous ‘Disco di tutti Disco’, Studio 54!

The Plan: Build a bar and performance space that could bring those classic memories back to life. This would require a group of like-minded New Yorkers that could help recapture the flavor and mystique, the sights and sounds of '70s-era New York City. Together this crew curated the soundtrack that could swing the scene back in time… and from there Ethyl's was born!

Brooklyn was the clear choice for a second location. Bringing the 70s vibe to life on Grand Street and paying homage to the days of the quintessential NYC nightlife experience, the venue combines the rock & roll heart of Max’s Kansas City with the glitter and glam of Studio 54.

Ethyl’s Williamsburg will feature live entertainment from local bands and the hottest DJs, as well as gorgeous go-go girls.

Taking a step back in time, guests will be transported to the days of disco, soul, and rock and roll. Paired perfectly with the eclectic energy of the borough, Ethyl’s was built for those New Yorkers who know and love this city and want to be surrounded by the spirits of their heroes and the memories of a scene that should never be forgotten!
